Covenant of Protection

Covenant:  a pact, a promise, an agreement.
Psalm 91 explains our covenant of protection from almighty God. It is irrevocable and will never be broken.


 “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
 I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.

 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.

 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.

 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;

 Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.” (Psalm 91:1-6)¹

By reading and studying we familiarize ourselves with the terms of our covenant.  Let’s take a look at a common agreement most of us share… our auto insurance agreement.  It is a covenant between the insurance agency and us; the insured. Our agreement contains clauses detailing what benefits the policy provides us.  Well likewise, Psalm 91 details our “Protection Agreement” it is a covenant between God and us; His children and each verse details our benefits. Just as you know the terms of your auto insurance you should know the terms of Psalm 91.  Auto insurance only covers our vehicles, Psalm 91 covers our life. 

Begin studying Psalm 91 until you know this agreement better than any other.  Personalize it and any words that you are unfamiliar with – grab a concordance and study them out.  Once you fully understand your covenant of protection, you’ll experience a freedom from fear of tragedy, catastrophe or destruction that is inexplicable!
