2It is like the precious ointment poured on the head, that ran down on the beard, even the beard of Aaron [the first high priest], that came down upon the collar and skirts of his garments [consecrating the whole body].
3It is like the dew of [lofty] Mount Hermon and the dew that comes on the hills of Zion; for there the Lord has commanded the blessing, even life forevermore [upon the high and the lowly]. (Psalm 133: 1-3, Amplified Bible)
I read this psalm years ago and it stuck with me. Verse 1 talks about how it is good for brethren (brothers and sisters in Christ) to live in unity. Unity being in one accord, in agreement, as one; because when that unity is there - so is the anointing (verses 2-3).
Brethren doesn’t simply mean those who you attend church with, but every member of the Body of Christ. Your born-again husband, children, in-laws, friends are all your brother or sister in Christ. When there is agreement between us there is a releasing of the anointing of God. That helps me to focus on keeping my relationships in tact, cause at the end of the day I need His anointing to do everything in my life.
